Simone views each client like a flower in a bouquet—unique, growing at their own pace, and equally beautiful. She enjoys spending quality time with her husband and four children and is excited to support the families of Nobles Speech Therapy.

Donna Thompson, M.A., SLP
Originally from the UK, Donna Thompson has over 25 years of experience in the Baltimore City School System. A graduate of Herbert Lehman College and Loyola University, Donna has served as a speech-language pathologist, special educator, and administrator. Though she now holds a leadership role as an Assistant Principal, her passion for speech-language pathology continues to shape her work with students. Donna is excited to reconnect with the field through Nobles Speech Therapy, combining her deep knowledge of education and communication to support each child's academic success.
With the addition of our new speech-language pathologists, we are more equipped than ever to support children in their speech and language development. Our team works collaboratively to ensure that each child receives personalized and effective therapy tailored to their unique needs.

Children from all backgrounds can benefit from speech therapy,
with boys more likely than girls to suffer from speech-related disorders. Statistically speaking, African American boys are the most likely to suffer from speech disorders and the least likely to receive treatment or assistance.
That's why as one of the few African American males working in the female-dominated field, I want to be visible so that kids can see a therapist who looks like them.
Keeping it Fun
I firmly believe therapy sessions should be fun for kids and involve parents in the treatment. Many children say they look forward to my therapy sessions and are excited to share what they've learned each week.
I make it a point to keep parents informed of newly introduced skills and give activities to practice and reinforce throughout the week.
I even wrote a book, "The Courageous Lion in Milo," to provide an enjoyable way for you to work with your child at home.
Core Values
A critical factor for making progress in children's speech therapy is the demeanor of the speech pathologist and his or her ability to establish a rapport with the child.
I believe the traits that enable me to connect with children and make progress where other therapists and counselors have failed are:
Patience
A consistently calm and understanding manner is vital when working with children.
Persistence
I won't give up on your child despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.
Perseverance
I maintain faith in your child when the going gets tough. We look for solutions and make adjustments if your child doesn't respond to standard treatments.
Empathy
I can understand the feelings and frustrations associated with difficulty communicating.
Education and Certifications
I am trained and certified in the following areas:
Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communicative Sciences and Disorders
Masters of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of the District of Columbia
Certified in PROMPT Approach to Speech Therapy
- a speech therapy approach to treat speech impairments. One PROMPT component is a hands-on therapy, where an SLP provides touch cues to guide the child's jaw, lips, and tongue to form words correctly. This approach also uses fun activities and games to focus on relevant terms that make sense to kids.
Certified in PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) Approach
This approach helps children who are non-verbal or have limited or unclear speech, including autistic. It begins by using pictures to communicate basic requests and slowly increases communication complexity in phases.
